Killara Cafe

Killara Impact Group was established as a social venture in 2021 when a conversation between Killara Foundation chairman John Paul Whitbread, Edmund Rice Services executive officer Mark Monahan and board member Bill Wilding took place to consider a collaborative opportunity to open a cafe with a social purpose at Mt Atkinson with the support of Mt Atkinson Holdings and Stockland.

Soon after, Killara Impact Group was born, to further the aims of the Killara Foundation and its collaborative partners. Killara Impact Group has established a working cafe at Mt Atkinson Stockland, coffee carts and other catering and hospitality services in the greater Melbourne area.

Our approach focuses on delivering high quality food and beverage, while also providing employment and training opportunities for young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Apart from great coffee and amazing food, our cafes and coffee carts provide a unique experience for customers, allowing them an opportunity to find out more about the Country they are on, and to connect with the Traditional Owners of the land. All profits from Killara Cafe and the associated Killara Impact Group support the work of Killara Foundation.
